During operation, the greaves are conveyed through a precision-engineered single conical screw. This process effectively squeezes out the fat into a surrounding chamber, while the de-fatted solids are discharged as press cake. The extracted fat—along with fine solid particles—is collected in a trough and conveyed to the outlet via an integrated screw mechanism.

The Haarslev Feather Press is a robust and efficient solution designed to mechanically reduce moisture content in poultry feathers—such as those from chickens, turkeys, and geese—achieving a consistent output with approximately 55% moisture content.

This press can be seamlessly integrated downstream of a conventional feather separator or directly connected to a slaughterhouse’s feather transport and pumping system.
